About Charles Umeh

Charles Umeh, was born and raised in Nigeria, in a family of six where the values of education, integrity, honesty, and hard work were instilled in him from a very young age. With both of his parents serving as high school teachers, Charles learned first-hand the importance of these virtues, which have since become the pillars defining his character, beliefs, and ideologies.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Imo State University in Nigeria and a Master’s degree in International Operations & Supply Chain Management from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, Charles embodies a commitment to academic excellence and global perspective. 

Settling in Regina upon migrating to start a family with his beautiful wife Consilia, he proudly embraced his role as a devoted husband and father to two amazing children, Kaima and Oma and have since come to call Regina home for five years now.

Driven by a passion for community activism and leadership, Charles has dedicated himself to various volunteer roles within Regina, serving in different capacities on community and organizational boards and engaging in community services. His previous role as the Southern Artistic Director at Common Weal Community Arts underscored his passion for leveraging art as a catalyst for social change, working closely with local artists and Saskatchewan communities to foster meaningful impact.

In his current role, Charles continues to serve his community through engagement and outreach efforts, advocating for and exposing creative residents to the opportunities available in Saskatchewan. Additionally, as an entrepreneur, he has co-founded several businesses within his community, contributing to local economic growth and employment opportunities.

Recognizing the rich cultural diversity within Regina as a strength, Charles believes strongly in its reflection within the city hall, emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusivity in shaping the city’s future. Motivated by the challenges facing residents, particularly those in Ward 4, he has volunteered to represent the ward in the city council. With a commitment to giving back and providing strong representation, Charles pledges to be a voice for the people and work towards a more prosperous future for all residents.
